Variscite is found in much of the southwestern United States and is most generally a lime green often with some matrix, or spiderwebbing. Some of the most beautiful material comes from the Wintergreen mine in Nevada.  The mine was lost for most of the 1900’s.  Back in the late 1800’s and early 1900’s this mine supplied Tiffany and Co.  It was rediscovered about twenty years ago, mid 1980’s, but little mining activity has limited the supply.  The material from this mine is very bright and beautiful and is very hard to come by.
