The location of the Stefoinite mine in Wyoming has been taken to the grave by its’ discoverers, and unfortunately the world has precious little of this fantastic material left. The tan patterns contrast with almost black background and blue chalcedony pockets complete the overall effect which is pure elegance. Stefoinite was discovered by a man named Rudy Stefoin in Wyoming. He kept the location of the mine secret until his death and therefore, only a small amount remains for our enjoyment. Its’ hardness is 6 ½ to 7.
