With
Rainbow Obsidian it is extremely important to orient the material while
cutting to expose as much color as possible.
I find it difficult to photograph so as to show the exquisite
reds, purples, greens and blues that just dance across the basically
black stones in almost any light, but especially sunlight.
It is most commonly found in Mexico, California, and Oregon.
Metaphysically, Obsidian is an excellent
grounding stone and provides for a connection from the base of the
spine to the heart of the earth. It
is a wonderful protective stone, stabilizing internal and external
energies and gently protection from whatever would bring physical or
emotional harm. Provides a
shield against negativity. Obsidian
is useful in healing, providing both the healer and subject with
clarity with respect to both the cause and the treatment of the
disease. It is Useful in
shamanic ceremonies to aid in removal of the disorder from the body and
Provides energy and purpose.
