Some of the most beautiful blues come from the Ray Mine in Gila & Pinal County, Arizona.  The hardness of untreated (unstabalized) Chrysocolla is generally 2 – 4.  Also another location for beautiful blue Chrysocolla is Kelly, New Mexico.  A basic copper silicate, Chrysocolla is harder than turquoise and softer than chalcedony.  It is a secondary mineral and usually forms in the zone of alteration in all types of hydrothermal replacement deposits.

Metaphysically, Chrysocolla relieves stress, restores emotional balance, assuages guilt, promotes maturity, dissipates nervous tension.  It is also believed to stimulate creativity and confidence, enhance patience, compassion, forgiveness and tolerance.  A stone to bring peace to the mind and heart.  Also said to support the pancreas and the respiratory system.  Valued in the past as amulet to protect the young from evil spirits.  Anahata Chakra (heart).  Gemini, Virgo and Taurus Astrological Signs.  Numerological Vibration 5.  Treats arthritis and bone disease.  Helps with muscle spasms, the digestive tract and ulcers.  Also good with lung problems and with regulating the body’s blood sugar and insulin balance.
