Big Diggins Agate is a “rare” material from the 1950’s. It was found near Deming, New Mexico. This material, according to my sources, was dug by Buzz Chapman of Chapmans Gem and Mineral Museum in the early 1950’s. The agate had been moved from his old rockshop to the museum in the 1960’s and was left in a pile in the rear. Dairy cows buried it and it was rediscovered when he excavated for a new wing on the museum. I purchased what little I have from Chris Christensen. Watch for rare sagenite and plume in some of this material.
