Prasiolite, Leek-Green Quartz, has not reached the height of popularity of its counterparts however has recently been offered more and more to collectors and Jewelry Connoisseurs, its color is yellow-green and when cut properly is a beautiful gemstone. It is not found in nature but since 1950 has been produced by heating Amethyst and yellow Quartzes from Brazil. Its hardness is 7. Though its new found popularity it has become a very collectible variety of Quartz.
