Chrome Diopside offers a beautiful rich green color at a most affordable price. It is the most affordable gemstone with a pure rich green color. It is most available, however, in smaller sizes, with the rarer larger sizes not only becoming much more expensive but also so rich it can become too dark.
Chrome Diopside is a much better choice for pendants and earrings as its hardness is 5.5. It is mostly mined in Yakutia and Siberia and the liberalization of the economy of the former Soviet Union has made it more available than ever before.
